Contributor Guidelines:

UEWiccan accepts articles from Non-UEW Wiccans and other Pagans, but is designed for, and focused upon, the UEW community.

Contributors are expected to provide researched, documented articles touching upon the focuses of this journal. Articles should ideally follow APA guidelines for citations, bibliography and style and be understandable at the advanced Second Circle level of UEW.

Articles should, whenever works are cited, contain a works cited section and may also contain recommended reading, suggested links or other such materials. Diagrams and drawings should be rendered in black and white or grayscale, no more than 2.5 inches in width and contain captions or an in-text reference.

Authors should include a brief biography, including any materials they think readers will want to know, such as length of time in UEW, status or other background, education, employment or other stuff. If an author’s article contains discipline-specific or field-dependant material, it’s always good to include data that explains to readers why they should listen to you. For example, if you were to write a history article, and you have a degree in history, or you are an archivist for the National Archives, or you are a historian, then it is best to mention that.

A little fun, humanizing tidbit is good, too. “Fred says the best thing about writing articles is finishing them” or “Joanne lives with 22 dogs and 3 cats” are examples of the kind of stuff you can add to a biography blurb to make people understand that you are just as human and real as your readers.

It is recommended that authors use the APA or MLA style guides when writing their articles. While it is our intention to publish in the more generalized APA style, it is not difficult to adapt MLA and similar styles to APA. Other styles, such as those used in medical journals, lack the information our readers might need, like the subtitle of the article and the additional authors.

PLEASE CONTRIBUTE, this journal is YOUR JOURNAL.
